Album Design

We specialize in creating unique, magazine style albums for all of life’s special events.  From elegant wedding albums to fun, whimsical travel books, we capture the story your images are meant to tell. 

Our albums are beautifully created masterpieces, and our clients quickly realize and appreciate how distinctive they are.

Hours of digital editing go into the making of each album.  Each page is custom designed to suit the theme and mood of your photos, from exquisite panoramic compositions to stylish multi-photo layouts. From the first page to the last, the care and creativity that goes into creating your special album speaks for itself.

Compared to the cost of printing single sheets of photos of a similar size (not to mention the the ordinary, traditional way of displaying them on plain white pages), we are sure you’ll agree that getting a professionally bound and designed album is the way to go!

PRICING:
Album prices start at CDN $450 for a minimum of 20 pages (all pages are two-sided; a 20 page album will include 40 different layouts).  Additional pages cost CDN $15 per side and include free shipping, free private hosting of your online album for 30 days from time of first upload (so you can share with friends and family), basic retouching, cropping, correction, color conversion (eg color to sepia or black and white) and enhancement of your images (drop shadows, custom frames, graphic design elements etc)..

All albums are hardcover and leather bound, with long-lasting binding quality.  Interior pages are acid-free and have a light gloss for optimal color and a smooth, professional appearance.

Square: 10”x10” (opens up to 10” H x 20” W)
Square: 12”x12” (opens up to 12”H x 24”W)
Landscape: 8.5 x 11” (opens up to 8.5”H x 22”W)

Softcover 5”x5” mini-albums/parent books are available at a discount when ordering any of the larger square albums.

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Pick the images you would like to include in the album.

  2. Ensure you have selected an appropriate number of images for the album.

  3. If you’d like to have them placed in any particular order, put them in a sequence accordingly.

  4. Make a CD/DVD of your images and mail them to us.

  5. Send in any copyright release documents.

  6. We will begin the album design process and send you a link to view your virtual album securely online.

  7. Contact us if there are any changes you’d like to make.

  8. Once you are completely satisfied with the layout of your album, make your payment online using Paypal.

  9. Upon receiving payment, your album will be dispatched for printing and binding.

  10. When your finished album arrives from the printer’s, we will conduct a quality assurance check to ensure it meets all our standards.

  11. Your album will be shipped to you via Canada Post at no extra cost.

  12. Your album is covered by our no-questions asked guarantee. We pride ourselves in our customer service and will strive to ensure your complete satisfaction!


  1. Pick the images you want to include in the album.
    To ensure optimal printing, choose high quality/high resolution images.  We recommend images that have come from a digital camera with a minimum of 6-8 megapixels (or at least 300 ppi).  We can work with lower resolution photos, but might have to limit their final size in the album.  If you are unsure about the quality of your images, please feel free to contact us.  We’ll be happy to discuss it with you!



  2. Ensure you have selected an appropriate number of images for the album.
    The number of images that can be used in an album varies, but the general guideline is 2.5 images per layout. Every page has two sides or layouts (front and back). This means that you should aim for about 5 images per page.  For a 20 page album, this would work out to 100 images. 

    From these 100 images, we may then use 60-85 for the final layout.  Some pages may have 6-10 images, while others will have only 1 or 2.  By maintaining a reasonable ratio, we can design a superior album, using more important images as full page or double page spreads, rather than trying to jam as many photos as possible, and ending up with a cluttered and unprofessional look. Additional pages may be added or removed as necessary during the editing phase so the process is entirely flexible and tailor-made to suit your needs.



  3. If you’d like to have them placed in any particular order, put them in a sequence accordingly.
    The easiest way to do this is to group photos into different folders and name the folders: “Folder1”, “Folder2”, “Folder3” etc.

    If there are images that you absolutely want included in the album, you can mark them as such in a special folder eg “MustInclude”.

    If you are submitting images for a wedding album, it may help to sort the images into the following categories:

    - Getting Ready
    - Bride
    - Groom
    - Bride & Groom
    - Bride's Family
    - Groom's Family
    - Wedding Party
    - Ceremony
    - First Dance
    - Cake Cutting
    - Bouquet / Garter Toss
    - Reception


  4. Make a CD/DVD of your images and mail them to us.
    Please email us for our mailing address when you are ready to send your CD/DVD.
    Do NOT send any originals. Always make a copy of original images before submitting your photos.



  5. Send in any copyright release documents.
    Before we can start designing your album, we need to ensure that we are authorized to work with the images submitted.  If you own the copyright to the photos being used for the album, we can proceed following a written consent from you.  Images taken by a professional photographer require a signed copyright release from the original photographer. Please contact us if you need appropriate copyright release documents to take to your photographer.



  6. We will begin the album design process and send you a link to view your virtual album securely online.
    Turn around time for album design is 2-3 weeks.  At this point, you are welcome to give your input on the design process.  Please let us know if you have any special requests or preferences eg  if there is a specific photo or text you’d like for the front page etc. 

    For wedding albums, we also request the names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, venue and/or any other information you would like included in your album.

    Once the album is completed, we will contact you with a password-protected link to view your album online. We will host your album at no cost for a period of 30 days so you can share it with friends and family as you like.



  7. Contact us if there are any changes you’d like to make.
    All albums come with 3 free edit sessions.  During this stage, let us know if you’d like to make any photo swaps, layout changes or other miscellaneous edits. 

    If any edits are needed, adjustments will be made and an updated album will be made available online for your final approval.



  8. Once you are completely satisfied with the layout of your album, make your payment online using Paypal.
    Following your final approval, we will email you an invoice requesting payment.  At this point, we are only accepting Paypal.  Paypal allows you to make payments securely and safely. The service allows you to pay in any way you prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.  It also ensures your personal information is safe-guarded.  At no point do we receive or store details about your credit card or other financial information.



  9. Upon receiving payment, your album will be dispatched for printing and binding.
    We deal only with professional binders and printers with a long history of excellence in the industry.  Depending on the season, the turn-around time for getting your finished album back can be anywhere from 10 to 18 business days (may be longer during Christmas/New Year and/or other holidays). 



  10. When your finished album arrives from the printer’s, we will conduct a quality assurance check to ensure it meets all our standards.
    If there are any errors, omissions, misaligned pages or other problems with the completed album, we will deal directly with the printer and request a new album at no cost to you. 

    Please note that although this is something that rarely happens, it may mean additional delay in getting  your album back to you. 



  11. Your album will be shipped to you via Canada Post at no extra cost.
    Once your album has been approved for dispatch, we will send you a notice with a tracking number for your delivery. 



  12. Your album is covered by our no-questions asked guarantee. We pride ourselves in our customer service and will strive to ensure your complete satisfaction!
    If you are not happy with your album for any reason, simply mail it back and upon receipt, we will refund your payment in full, no questions asked.

We do not offer wedding, event or on-location photography.

PRICING:
Photography sessions are available, starting at $150/hour (minimum one hour). Price includes free retouching of 5 images (per one hour session) to magazine style quality, all proofs, free resizing of images to print (300 ppi), web (72 ppi) and email sizes.

Keepsakes:

Turn ordinary photos into extra-ordinary keepsakes for display, a gift or a special memento. Custom collages start at CDN $80 and include the print. Please email for a quote.

If you need to improve your model portfolio, headshots, family portraits, wedding photos, publicity shots, vacation images etc, please email for a quote.  Services include air-brushing, restoration, tone/color correction, photo manipulation, and other high-end enhancements. 


REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Photos taken by professional photographers are copyrighted and we need permission to use them.  Unless you own the copyright to the photos being submitted, we require a clear written and signed approval from the original photographer in order to reproduce and/or alter any such images.
  2. All images have to be in a digital format so they can be sent via a CD/DVD in the mail.
