October, 2003 - 3,2,1 Blast Off!
Halloween - it's as good a day as any to
launch a website. In fact, it's downright appropriate because
this is kind of scary. I have no clue what metatags are, or what
the difference is between HTML, DHTML or XHTML. Judging by the
growing number of letters though, I guess I must have missed a
whole generation of TML, ML and the mother of them all, the one
that started it all, the head huncho, the big kahuna, el grande
"L". (OK, so "L" probably just refers to that
universally accepted code: hold index finger and thumb at right
angles to one another. Now bring to forehead and mouth the word
L-O-S-E-R). The "Dummies" book that I use to guide me
through this maze of cyberspace, tells me that HTML stands for
"HyperText Markup Language". So obviously DHTML is the
adult version of HTML, the Dirty HyperText Markup Language - and
when it gets really, REALLY dirty, it's called X-HTML.
I guess I might as well get started *rolling up sleeves*. Please
pass the soap and water.
